With the season over, it’s time to see how the performances were in each position. Finding out who will be free agents will be another part of the series because building the next roster is a very important element. That will include which players from other teams might be available. Today: cornerbacks.
Who are part of this group?
Trevon Diggs, Anthony Brown, Jourdan Lewis, DaRon Bland, Kelvin Joseph, and Nahshon Wright. CJ Goodwin is listed as a cornerback, but he only participates on special teams in reality. Both Trayon Mullen and Mackensie Alexander will not be counted because they were in one game each.
How was the performance of the cornerbacks of the Dallas Cowboys?

The veteran didn’t return to action with an Achilles tendon injury in Week 13, but his spot couldn’t be filled effectively due to a lack of reliability in the Cowboys’ young cornerbacks.. Lewis suffered a fracture in week 7 that sidelined him for the rest of the season.

Bland emerged as the hope to develop in the future. Dallas selected him in the fifth round of the draft with the 167th overall pick. He wasn’t expected to see many snaps, rather he was expected to earn a spot as part of the rotation. However, he had to contribute more than was projected and he lived up to it. Covering wide receivers he was exploited at times, though his instinct to go for the ball more than made up for it. The rookie led the team with five interceptions..
The 2021 draft elections definitely appear as question marks for the next campaign. Joseph also had to step up because of Brown’s injury, but the Cowboys quickly took that opportunity away from him because of his poor production. Wright was not used as much by the rivals as the weak point, although he did not give any guarantees either.
Which cornerbacks are ending their contracts with the Dallas Cowboys?
Brown is the cornerback who will become an unrestricted free agent in March. The injury he sustained could make him available for signing possibly closer to training camp. The other element of Dallas that ends its link is Goodwin as a non-priority situation.
Who would be available in free agency?
The market will have strong names like James Bradberry, Marcus Peters or Eli Apple available to be hired. However, the type of players that management tends to look for are experienced options at a low cost. The complex thing is that this position does not offer many variables that are solid at a low price. Troy Hill, Cameron Sutton y Mike Hughes could meet those requirements. Although the best thing will be to use the draft to renew this sector of the depth chart.
