Honda, the most loyal partner of the PGA Tour will no longer be the title partner of the Honda Classic after the last round of the 2023 edition.
When I started my career it was one of the most important tournaments on the circuit.

A decision by the Japanese car manufacturer after all is logical, given the status of a “regular”, not to say “devalued” event of the PGA Tour and therefore less attractive than the “boosted” tournaments of the “new look” PGA Tour.
“It’s sad to see Honda go, it’s the longest-standing sponsorship of the PGA Tour,” said Billy Horschel former member of the PAC (PGA Tour Players Council).
«I’m a bit disappointed with the PGA Tour in the sense that when I started my career it was one of the biggest tournaments on the tour. The 20 best players in the world were present.
I’m not going to say they didn’t prioritize Honda Classic, they prioritize all sponsors. It’s always difficult when you have 47 different sponsors to satisfy everyone.
But over the years, it kind of got ‘relegated’ for different reasons, including timing.”
