HC Hard lost the penultimate home game in the group stage of the European League. The Vorarlbergers had to admit defeat to Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday with 26:31 (12:17) and after seven games they are still at the bottom with one point. Harder’s best thrower was Srdjan Predragovic with eight goals.
Hard conceded four two-minute penalties in the first twelve minutes, but initially challenged the favorite very well. The Vorarlbergers were often just in the lead in the early stages, before the thread broke after around 20 minutes and the Portuguese threw up a lead of five goals by the break.
In the second half, the Portuguese, led by the Costa brothers Martim (12 goals) and the only 17-year-old Francisco (5), were no longer in trouble and are on the verge of promotion to the round of 16. Hard visits Skjern in Denmark in the next game on February 14th.
