Guy Roux’s Eye of February 22: “Football, rugby and badminton”

The victory and qualification of the AJA team (U18) in the Gambardella Cup is the second football event of the week in Icaun. Jérémy Spender’s AJA will play the quarter-finals and will find the elite of French clubs.
With its record of seven victories in Gambardella, the AJA training center continues to be among the very best in France. The main shareholder of the club and its president Mr. Zhou does not fail to follow him closely.

A good understanding with the functioning of the N2 contributes to these successes which follow in the championships (2nd in national U19 and 4th in national U17). Remain the last rung of the scale and the passage in professional. Haller in Dortmund and Ndicka in Frankfurt are the examples to follow. Beforehand, the association must work to qualify young Auxerrois at the Jean-Claude-Hamel training center.

We salute the special effort of the organizers and the significant presence of special badminton mats.

Two clubs from Icaun have qualified for the round of 16 of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Cup. Sens Franco-Portuguese and Avallon thus shed light on their resumption of the season. Local rugby is also looking good. The RCA exhausted the holder of the scoreboard with 69 to 16 against the last of the group. In R1 Chablis continues its high pace and follows Montceau Bourgogne in second place. In R2 it is the ubiquitous Toucy and Migennes who win.

The major international badminton tournament at Stade Auxerrois (the 23rd) was a great success. Players from the Paris region were there in number and quality. Maxime Leveque de Chambly was the big winner. We salute the special effort of the organizers and the significant presence of special badminton mats.

Eleven Icaunais and Icaunaises will be present in Carhaix (Finistère) for the final cross-country races. This so important sport is still running despite the development of road and mountain races.

In golf, Berardo continues his good season (21st in the Challenge Tour).
