Galli: “Pioli not entirely convinced by Leao’s attitude” – Football

(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 06 – “I have great esteem and faith in the Pioli man: if he makes choices, he weighs them up. If last night he decided not to deploy Leao at the start, it is evident that there is something he is not convinced, because Stefano has always been at the side of his players, he has always put his heart into it. There is probably a situation that does not reassure him. I always see Leao with his head held high, he assumes certain attitudes, such as if he would do you a favor to play Then, I don’t know his physical and mental shape: he came out of the World Cup as if he could become an absolute star, even if he was never a regular with Portugal.

Maybe he’s lost some self-esteem, but he has to find it again, doing important things even in training. Seeing him warm up makes you angry. I think others see this too, beyond talent, which is there for all to see”.

On the Empoli fullback, Guglielmo Vicario, the former goalkeeper Giovanni Galli underlines that “he deserves a lot of attention”. Then, he adds: “He arrived late, because very often he made the second but, when he was given an opportunity at Empoli, this boy exploded, game after game. After the first year it seemed he should be bought by important teams and big numbers, I had doubts for the age, but the second season is better than the first”.

“I convinced myself about Napoli after the match lost at San Siro on 4 January against Inter, because a team that fields five forwards – like Spalletti did in the final – and continues to play, perhaps looking for a hole you do it in training, without ever throwing the ball away… This gave me the conviction of the game and the ability to know where it can go. Napoli convinced me, they’re a too healthy team”. (HANDLE).
