Frantic day of badminton in Tinajo by the Lanzarote Raqueta Club

The fourth day of the Badminton Island Games was played

The Tinajo Municipal Pavilion hosted the fourth day of the Lanzarote badminton sports rallies, organized by the Lanzarote Raqueta Club, with the commitment of the Lanzarote Island Council. On this occasion, it was the turn of the Under15, Under17 and Under19 categories, which captured the interest with 190 games played in just four hours.

The Sub15 and Sub17 categories were played in both females and males, while the Sub19 was held in a mixed category, all of them individually. Jason Conti was the winner in the U15 boys, winning 7 of the 8 matches played, followed in the standings by Eduardo Curbelo and Bruno Andrés Fernández, who won 6 of the 8 matches played under the Round Robin system, all against all.

The U15 female category first had a group stage, from which the best four came out, two for each, to play the semifinals. Sofía Gómez beat Indara Elisabet Arrocha from the Puerto del Carmen School, while Sara Cuenca from the Arrecife School did the same with Graciela Muggler. In the final it was Graciela who prevailed, beating Sofía 15-10.

The U17 male category was played in the Round Robin modality with a total of seven matches for each of the participants. Adrián Carabali won in all the matches he played, being crowned champion of the day, followed by Daniel Rodríguez with 5 victories and by the triple tie between Sebastián Bisaro, Alberto Hernández and Luis Hernández, all from the School of Arrecife, with 4.

For its part, in the U17 female category, the competition format was similar, with a total of 9 matches for each of the registered players. Ana Delgado, from the School of Haría, gave her rivals no options and prevailed in all the matches, dominating the standings. Second was Ariadna Moreno from the Puerto del Carmen School, with 7 victories and third, with 6 wins, were Amaya Catharina Betancor from the Tinajo School and Leire Cedrés from the Arrecife School.

Finally, the Sub19 Mixed category had a total of 6 athletes, who fought in 5 games each. Aritz Inchaurbe from the School of Arrecife achieved victory in all of them and led the ranking of the category in this concentration, followed by Alyssa Unwin from the School of Playa Honda with 4 and Yannis Antoni Serra from the School of Playa Blanca with 3.

This weekend the competitive activity of the Lanzarote Raqueta Club continues with the dispute of the second day of the National Club League and the second day of the Canary Islands Club League.
