Frank Buschmann: rumors about a new TV job after his football billing! | Sports

In the night from Sunday to Monday (0.30 a.m., Pro7) the Super Bowl takes place in Glendale (Arizona). With the football summit between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, a TV era in Germany ends…

After eleven years, it is the last Super Bowl for “Ran” (Pro7/Sat1). For the next five years, RTL will hold the NFL rights for German free TV – and will thus also broadcast the Super Bowl mega event!

A question that worries many football fans: with which staff will RTL broadcast the NFL? Officially, the broadcaster has not yet announced any names – but the rumor mill is bubbling.

Huh, he doesn’t usually do that Tom Brady posts underwear photo

A name that is discussed again and again: cult commentator Frank Buschmann (58).

“Buschi” (currently commenting on the Bundesliga conference on Sky, among other things) is one of the best-known sports voices in Germany – but also one of the most controversial.

Many fans love his emotional nature and celebrate him for it on social networks. A similar number are also annoyed by it. Bushman polarizes.

Will he be the new football face on RTL?

Buschmann recently stated that he will NOT comment on football after the season: “I now find everything around it difficult to unbearable.” Without a football job, the way would be clear for the NFL

This fits: he is already regularly on duty for RTL, commenting on the show “Ninja Warrior Germany”, among other things. By 2017 he was also commentating for the NFL for “Ran”.

So is he making a football comeback after his football break?

Again and again it is heard that RTL would even produce for Buschmann from his place of residence in Munich, instead of from the station’s Cologne studios. Buschmann could then regularly comment on the 7 p.m. game on Sunday – traditionally the one with the highest ratings in Germany.

Confronted with the rumors by BILD, Buschmann said: “You know more than I do.”

In principle, it is planned that RTL will broadcast three games per Sunday. A 7 p.m. game and the 10:25 p.m. game on RTL. Another 7 p.m. game will probably run on the Internet at RTL-Plus. So the broadcaster has a great need for staff on the subject of football … According to BILD information, it is likely that the commentator-expert duo Björn Werner (32/ex-NFL professional) and Patrick Esume (49/ex-football coach) switched from “Ran” to RTL.

Carsten Spengemann (50) is also considered one of the best NFL experts and commentators in Germany, belonged to the “Ran” football team together with ex-pro Roman Motzkus (53) and is extremely popular with fans. How is it going with him?

Spengemann (left) and Motzkus were also part of the “Ran” football team and often reported directly from the USA

Spengemann ( who is also a columnist for BILD): “To stay in football lingo, I’m a post-season free agent. Let’s see what happens. But it is clear that football is my passion.”

By April at the latest, football fans should be clear about which TV faces they have to get used to. According to BILD information, RTL wants to announce information about its football TV team before the NFL draft (from April 27/the annual selection of the best talents).
