France team: Theo Hernandez admits having experienced “a drop in morale” after the World Cup

Théo Hernandez smiled again this Friday. From a perfect cross from twenty-five meters, placed on the head of Olivier Giroud, the Frenchman offered victory to AC Milan, in the duel which opposed him to Torino (1-0). A welcome boost, after several games he had gone through like a shadow. After the match, the full-back returned to his bad pass, which he attributes to the aftermath of the defeat in the World Cup final.

“After the World Cup, it’s true that I experienced a drop in morale, but now I think I’m back,” he said. “Those are three important points. We had just come from several games where we had not been able to play well, but with this victory, I think we are moving forward. We are a strong, united team, let’s move forward. “Back with Milan on January 4, seventeen days after the final lost by the Blues against Argentina, he had not yet been decisive in the league this year.

Milan far from the title

In the final, Hernandez had played 71 minutes before being replaced by Eduardo Camavinga, in one of the poker moves attempted by Didier Deschamps to get back into the game. He had therefore witnessed from the bench the reversal of the situation and the cruel defeat that followed.

At club level, his slack had contributed to a lifetime stint for Milan who, before their success against Torino, remained on three defeats in a row in Serie A. Currently third in the championship, the Rossoneri are 15 points behind the Neapolitan leader. A gap that already seems prohibitive to keep their title acquired last year.
