The 10 Most Watched Super Bowls of All Time

The estimate is that the 2023 Super Bowl will enter the most watched of all, surpassing 100 million viewers

O Super Bowla major NFL (National Football League) title decider, is one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.

The 57th edition of the competition will take place tomorrow (12), with a dispute between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs – in addition to Rihanna’s halftime show. The expectation is that the event will break records this year, surpassing the mark of 100 million spectators.its average over the past 12 years.

Due to the event’s popularity, the NFL has agreements that allow NBC, CBS and FOX to share the broadcasting rights, which are negotiated every three years. The 2023 Super Bowl will be broadcast on FOX.

  1. Super Bowl 2015 – 114.4 million viewers; New England Patriots win over Seattle Seahawks and Katy Perry’s halftime show
  2. 2014 – 111.5 million viewers; Seattle Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos, and Bruno Mars performed at halftime.
  3. 2016 – 111.9 million viewers; victory of the Denver Broncos against the Carolina Panthers and Coldplay show, with Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.
  4. 2012 – 111.35 million viewers; the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots, with a performance by Madonna.
  5. 2017 – 111.32 million viewers; New England Patriots beat Atlanta Falcons and Lady Gaga played the halftime show.
  6. 2011 – 111 million viewers; victory of the Green Bay Packers against the Pittsburgh Steelers and show of The Black Eyed Peas.
  7. 2013 – 108.7 million viewers; the Baltimore Ravens beat San Francisco, with a performance by Beyoncé.
  8. 2010 – 106 million viewers; New Orleans Saints win against Indianapolis and The Who show.
  9. 2018 – 103.4 million viewers; the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots and Justin Timberlake played the halftime show.
  10. 2020 – 101.3 million viewers; Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers, with performances by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

*In 2016, Nielsen began including out-of-home Super Bowl broadcasts (in public places like bars, airports, beauty salons, and more) in its surveys. Therefore, those prior to that year do not take them into account.
