A former semi-professional soccer player in the Swiss league, whose name has not been revealed, confessed to having murdered a man five years ago and assured that he later threw the body into Lake Leman, which bathes cities such as Geneva or Lausanne, although the supposed corpse has not been found.

As reported this Thursday by the Tribune de Genève newspaper, the alleged murderer, who will be tried in May in Lyon, confronted his victim, apparently a member of a criminal gang in the French city, due to a conflict related to security operations. drug trafficking and also because of non-payment of debts.

After beating his adversary to death with a baseball bat, the assailant drove the body from Lyon to Lancy, on the outskirts of Geneva, where he lived, in the trunk of his car, where the body remained for several days.

Finally, the murderer took the car with the body to the riverside town of Villeneuve, from where he sailed in an inflatable boat into the Leman and from there he sank the body of his victim into the waters of the lake.

The Geneva nautical brigade has so far failed to find the body, although the investigators have proven some of the points in the alleged murderer’s story, such as the purchase of an inflatable boat on the dates of the event.

The former player, according to the Geneva newspaper, began his career in the lower divisions of the French league and later played for Swiss teams that were also far from the elite, such as FC Lancy or FC Aigle.
