Winner of Lorenzo Sonego at 1is round in Doha by saving three match points, Andy Murray feels he is performing well at the start of the season. At a press conference, the Briton discussed his schedule by revealing his intention to return to Roland-Garros, where he has played only once since 2017 (in 2020).
“I will do a training block after Miami on clay. I will do it somewhere in Europe… If it goes well, I will play in Rome, Madrid and hopefully Roland-Garros. When I played at Porte d’Auteuil in recent years I was not well physically, especially the year I played against Wawrinka (in 2020 he lost 6-1, 6-3, 6–2, editor’s note). And I can’t remember many other times I’ve played there in the last five or six seasons. So I would like to have the opportunity to play there one more time before I retire. If I feel very good physically, I would like to play there again »announced the finalist of the 2016 edition.
