First Ostderby, then comes Alba

Basketball Bundesliga: All games in the main round were canceled. On Easter Saturday the duel with the Mitteldeutsche BC will take place in the Arena Leipzig, after which the German champions will come to the fair.

The fans of the Niners Chemnitz are facing two absolute highlights of the current season around Easter. Because the Bundesliga basketball team is traveling to Weißenfels for the derby on Easter Saturday, which, like last year, is to be held in the Arena Leipzig. Three days later, on April 11th, the reigning German champion and cup winner Alba Berlin will do the honors and come to the trade fair in Chemnitz. This results from the schedule of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), which has now been scheduled until the end of the main round.

Including two catch-up games, the Niners still have 16 games to play in the main round until the beginning of May, eight of them away and eight in the fair. If they finish in one of the first eight places, the playoffs continue. The promoted team from 2020 already managed to do that in the pre-season, where the 0: 3 against Bayern Munich was quickly over. The Niners also made it into the Final Four of the BBL Cup last year, but they have already been eliminated there this season as well as from the Europe Cup. The focus is now fully on the Bundesliga, where the home game against BG Göttingen is scheduled for this Wednesday.

Then there is a two-and-a-half-week international break before it starts again in March – and properly. Five games are scheduled for the coming month alone, three of them in a row away from home – including at Alba Berlin. After 18 games, the Chemnitz team is seventh in the table with ten wins. Most recently there was a win in Crailsheim and a defeat on Sunday at home against FC Bayern Munich.
