The core of Standard cannot tolerate too many absentees. On Sunday, however, Ronny Deila has to miss his captain: Noë Dussenne. Now he has to choose between two very young defenders.
After all, he will not repeat the experiment with Cimirot in defense after it ended badly last time. So it will be either Lucas Noubi (18) or Ibe Hautekiet (20). The latter is the only transfer Standard made this winter. He was taken away from Club NXT.
“We often speak of a lack of leaders in our core,” said Deila. “But Ibe is one of them, despite his age. He has all the characteristics of a leader.”
Noubi, on the other hand, has more experience at the highest level. He has already played ten matches in the A-team this season. “He’s still a boy, he’s still going to school and combining the two isn’t that easy,” added Deila.
