Bundesliga: LASK saves a draw at the bottom of Ried

Felix Luckeneder saw red shortly before Rieder took the lead for preventing a clear chance to score (45th). Third-placed LASK, who had many problems with the more aggressive Rieders before the break and only created a few chances, is now eight points behind second Sturm Graz, who won 2-1 in Hartberg. Ried has been waiting for a complete success for six games and remains at the bottom of the table, but now tied with Hartberg (14 each).

Ried coach Christian Heinle made two changes compared to the 0-1 draw against Hartberg. David Ungar replaced right-back Matthias Gragger in the starting XI, while Philipp Pomer was allowed to try his hand at right-back instead of Luca Kronberger. LASK coach Dietmar Kühbauer replaced left-back Rene Renner with Marvin Potzmann, in central midfield the Ukrainian Maksym Talowjerow made his starting eleven debut for the suspended Branko Jovicic.

LASK escapes defeat at bottom of Ried

Tail light SV Ried got at least a small morale boost in the Admiral Bundesliga with a 1-1 win over LASK in an intense Upper Austria derby. But that also applied to Linz, who saved a draw after a playfully weak performance and 45 minutes outnumbered.

Rieder stronger at the beginning

Ried in particular provided the derby-typical energy and the first deals in the early stages. First it was Leo Mikic, then Lang, who gave goalie Alexander Schlager a small warm-up program after winning the ball. (3rd). Just two minutes later, a shot by the well-positioned Stefan Nutz was blocked in the penalty area, Michael Martin aimed over the LASK goal (15th).

The guests only gradually found their ball possession game, but initially had problems with precision. Only a corner brought danger, Ried goalie Jonas Wendlinger parried the following Köpfler Luckeneders brilliantly (18th). Referee Julian Weinberger then went to the screen because Ried defender Julian Turi was shot in the forearm by Robert Zuljs after the corner. There was no penalty.

It stayed entertaining. LASK was the dominant team after 25 minutes at the latest, but the aggressive Rieder were always up to the task in a duel and at least semi-dangerous after Mikic had won the ball again and Lang, who served him, was at least semi-dangerous (21st). Linzer didn’t find any chances for a long time, in the 42nd minute Nakamura, Zulj and Thomas Goiginger wasted an excellent counterattack chance.

Luckeneder causes a penalty and sees red

Shortly afterwards it was even more bitter for the favorites: Schlager first parried against Lang, but Luckeneder then acted as a substitute goalie after a flick from Nutz and saw red after his handball (44th). Lang converted the penalty due with ease.

The 6,530 spectators in the Josko Arena, which was not completely sold out, experienced an open game even after a change of sides, in which Rieder, who were now outnumbered, continued to have the LASK offensive attempts well under control. After just over an hour, Kühbauer brought fresh forces into the attack with Moses Usor and Ibrahim Mustapha, but Ried had the better chances from two free-kicks.

Unexpected equalizer by Nakamura

For a long time, LASK was only dangerous with a free kick, but Wendlinger was there with his foot against Peter Michorl (74th). Little indicated the equalizer in the end, more spoke for the 2:0. But Schlager was on the post against Mikic (80th), and up front Nakamura, who had been quite inconspicuous up to that point, directed it: the Japanese scored his tenth goal of the season from a half-right position after an assist from Usor.
