Bundesliga defender Leipzig Orbán donates bone marrow

Orbán has been in the German bone marrow donor register since 2017 and has now been evaluated as a suitable donor. He received injections to increase the number of stem cells from Saturday and stopped training with the team on Sunday.

“Of course I was surprised at first when I learned that I was being considered. But I didn’t doubt it for a moment. It is an opportunity to save a human life. I hope it will help that person to recover,” Orbán told the Bild newspaper.

In this season of the German league, the native of Kaiserslautern has not missed a single minute. “It is possible that I will miss the match with Union. Despite all my sporting ambitions, this is secondary in this case. And everyone who knows me knows that I will do everything to return to the team as soon as possible,” said Orbán.
