Basketball: OLB relapses against Evreux

Excellent Tuesday evening against Champagne Basket, the OLB appeared unrecognizable, four days later, against Evreux, which dried it properly (86-97), this Saturday February 4, at the sports hall. Constantly led, and too quickly deprived of its leader Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson, the team of Germain Castano never influenced the course of the game against an Ebroïcien collective which remained on three defeats in the league.

Started strong (7-17, 6th), in the wake of a very bleeding Christian Lutete (points), the Ebroïciens maintained the pace throughout the first quarter (13-25, 10th), well helped by an Asceric son clairvoyant (5 points at 100%, at this instant). There was indeed a beginning of revolt to subdue (19-25, 12th; 26-32, 14th), but Keith Wright and his gang quickly took things in hand and put the OLB back in the trap (26-37, 15th). An excellent passage from Paolo Marinelli, boiling hot for three minutes, even offered a sizeable advantage to ALM Evreux (26-42, 16th).

Jérémy Leloup in good shape

Lutete took over to send the Loiret team a little more on the ropes (30-48, 18th). Not good for much until then, she did violence at the end of the second act to limit the breakage (41-53, 20th), thanks to her veteran Jérémy Leloup (13 points at the break, 23 in the end ), clever when a miss-match presented itself against Tommy Ghezala.

Both teams lose their leader

The Ebroïcien leader was living his last moments on the sports hall floor, since he seriously injured his ankle at the very start of the third quarter, to the point of going out on the shoulders of Ousmane Camara. In the aftermath, it was the OLB which lost its playmaker, Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson, disqualified after after receiving an unsportsmanlike foul and a technical foul. These game facts did not really change the situation: Evreux remained in control of events (43-57, 23rd; 50-65, 26th). He owed it again and again to his strong men of the evening, Asceric, Wright and the amazing Lutete. Not far from being unplayable at the end of this quarter, the American-Congolese winger put the Orleans to the torture and pushed them away (58-77, 30th).

Neftali Difuidi impacting again

Opposite, Neftali Difuidi was toiling to keep OLB in the game, but he was on his own to ensure that the company was successful (63-81, 34th; 71-85, 36th). By dint of insisting, the bar of ten points yielded however (77-85), on an award-winning shot from the young winger. Paolo Marinelli quickly took charge of restoring the situation. Tyran de Lattibeaudière and Jérémy Leloup may have finished in cannonball, Evreux still resisted and won after a last shot at the buzzer from Shekinah Munanga (86-97).
