Quadruple defending champion, Friborg Olympic will be there for the final of the Swiss Cup. The Fribourgeois snatched their qualification in Monthey where they won on the wire 85-82.
Led 80-71 at 3”41 from the buzzer against Valaisans who had reached the break with a 14-point advantage (55-41), Friborg Olympic used its experience to overturn the table. The Fribourgeois were able to provoke the opposing faults to regain control through free throws. Monthey, however, could have gone into overtime if Markel Humphrey had converted his 3-point shot from the last chance.
On April 1 against the winner of the second semi-final between Vevey and SAM Massagno, Friborg will aim for an eleventh victory for its twenty-first final.
