Badminton. The Andrissen brothers at the top

Laurent Andrissen was not far from a double blow. Winner of the doubles an hour earlier, the BC Schwindratzheim player finally suffered the law of Julien Castel in singles.

It was therefore only with his brother Alexis that he climbed to the top step of the podium during the As du Volant tournament, organized last weekend at the Mundolsheim gymnasium.

“It was a long time ago, we were children”

“We have been playing together for several years but rarely continuously”, reveals Alexis, the eldest (34 years old), Laurent being 28 years old.

The brothers, who grew up in Robertsau, have been playing badminton for at least two decades. “We had already won at ‘Mundo’ in doubles, but that was a very long time ago, we were children”, laughs the fraternal tandem.

In the doubles final, the two Andrissens defeated the ENA duo Bad Thomas Forte – Quentin Werner in two clear sets (21-14, 21-14). “It is surely our experience that made the difference, we know each other well, that can also help”, smile, together, the two brothers who play in the same club, in Schwindratzheim, Laurent in Prenational, Alexis in Regional 1 .

An indecisive final

In the singles final, Laurent Andrissen didn’t miss much, beaten at the end of the suspense by Robertsauvien Julien Castel, more realistic in the decisive round (21-16, 12-21, 22-20).

Still in series 1, Haut-Saônoise Anna Faulconnier won the ladies’ singles while Sylvie Chabrier and Samantha Dirringer, partners at Cheminots de Strasbourg, won the doubles.
