Rink finished in 13th position after the first run, 0.689 seconds behind the best result holder, German Max Langenhann. Aparjods took 11th place and lost 0.562 seconds, while Bērzins, being in ninth place, lost 0.550 seconds.

Austria’s Jonas Müller was second in the race, 0.123 seconds slower, while the top three was completed by another Austrian, Niko Gleirscher, who was 0.239 seconds behind the German.

In the first race, Rinks started ninth, Bērziņš started the track as 17th, and Aparjods – as 21st in the competition of 24 sled drivers.

The second run was excellent by Aparjod, taking the second best result of the run, just behind Germany’s Felix Loch and moving up to third on the two-run aggregate, 0.319 seconds behind winner Langenhann.

Bērziņš showed the seventh best time in the race and rose to a shared eighth place in the stage, 0.713 seconds behind the winner.

Rink completed the race without any obvious mistakes, taking 12th place in the race and moving up to 11th in the two-race total, 1.114 seconds behind the winner.

The victory was won by Langenhans, who was third in the second race and spent two minutes and 13.596 seconds on the track in the sum of two races.

Loch lost to him by a mere 0.011 seconds.

After Aparjod, the next four places were taken by the Austrians, with N. Gleirscher finishing in the fourth place, Miller in the fifth, David Gleirscher in the sixth and Wolfgang Kindl in the seventh.

Aparjod had not been out of the top ten in any competition this season before the competition in Switzerland and achieved his best result in Sigulda, first winning the singles and team relay, but finishing third in the World Cup stage of the European Championship and winning the team relay.

Bērziņš also managed to achieve the best result this season on the Sigulda track, taking the seventh and sixth places respectively in the World Cup stages, finishing sixth in the European Championship, and winning the U-23 competition.

Rink joined the adult team after winning two world junior championship titles and the end of the Junior World Cup season, taking 18th place in Altenberg and failing to finish in Winterberg.

It has already been reported that on Saturday, in the men’s doubles competition, Mārtiņš Bots/Roberts Plūme won the third place, while Eduards Šević-Mikeľšević/Lūkas Krasts finished in the sixth position. On the other hand, in the women’s doubles competition, Viktorija Ziediņa/Selīna Zvilna also won bronze, while Anda Upīte/Sanija Ozoliņa finished in eighth position.

On Sunday, there will be a single competition for women, as well as a team relay.

Next week, the end of the season is planned in Vinterberg, where the athletes will compete again from February 24 to 26.
