Alisson misses the personality of Díaz, Van Dijk, Jota…

Liverpool is still in crisis. The Reds left thrashed at Molineux Stadium when they fell 3-0 against Wolverhampton on matchday 22 of the Premier League and completed a streak of four games in a row without winning for this tournament, since their last league victory was 2-1 over Leicester City on December 30.

Only one victory so far in 2023 for the team led by Jürgen Klopp. It was in that same scenario against Wolves by the slightest difference with a goal from Harvey Elliot for the FA Cup, tournament from which Liverpool already said goodbye when they fell against Brighton.

The multiple casualties of important players have affected the Reds’ game and therefore the results. Alisson Becker is aware of this, because personality and character are missed of footballers like Luis Diaz, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahimovic, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

“The same players who have achieved great things in the past few years… we are missing some, that is a great loss, but we expect them to return in the coming weeks. That will help the team with confidence and personality.” expressed the Brazilian goalkeeper in statements published by Liverpool Echo.

Goals conceded in the first minutes

Liverpool continues to suffer early on, as this time they conceded a goal against Matip at minute 5 of the first half, for which Alisson added: “Football is also a mental game. You go out on the field, you prepare your game, you prepare your way of playing, And then the first thing you do is make a mistake and concede? It doesn’t help at all. We have to trust ourselves and give our best. What we can do now is work hard to make sure things are better because we have quality.”

As Díaz continues his recovery process from the knee injury, his peers focus on the Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield, the next Reds challenge scheduled for Monday, February 13 at 3:00 pm (Colombian time).
