Newly retired Tom Brady won’t begin his TV analytics career until the fall of 2024.
That’s what the legendary quarterback said on Monday during his appearance on the Fox Sports network’s “The Herd” radio show.
Last week, Brady announced he was stepping down “for good” after 23 seasons in the NFL. He had already retired in 2022, before changing his mind and wearing the colors of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a third season. In May of that year, the 40-year-old signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports. The former pivot had agreed to join the network’s team of experts when he was no longer at work in the field.
“I want to be good at what I do,” Brady said. Last week I spoke with the folks at Fox Sports. The executives are allowing me to start my opportunity at Fox in the fall of 2024 and that’s been a great thing for me.”
“I’m going to take the time to learn things well, get good at what I want to do, get good at it, think about this opportunity and make sure I don’t rush anything.”
Brady played for the Patriots from 2000 to 2019 and won the Super Bowl six times with the New England club. He then joined the “Bucs” and lifted the Vince-Lombardi trophy another time.
