A thousand malaguistas give color to the derby in Los Cármenes

A thousand Malaguista fans gave color to the derby at Los Cármenes stadium. Three hours before the start of the match there were already hundreds of blue and white fans showing off their sportsmanship and sharing experiences with supporters of Granada CF in the vicinity of the Nasrid fiefdom.

With a large police presence to avoid possible altercations, the supporters of Málaga CF began to access the capital of Granada by bus or private vehicles. The early risers were the Torroxeños of the Peña Conejito “Duda 17”, that at noon they shared lunch at the Horto Málaga restaurant and then departed from their permanent headquarters at Luan Café in Torrox-Costa.

In Granada they later met subscribers of the Guadalhorce-Los Lunes, SuperBasti, Benamiel, San Pedro Alcántara, Frente Comepipas or Archidona supporters clubs. The president of the Torroxa supporters club, Manuel Jurado, said that it was a “very important match, with three very decisive points at stake.” And he claimed that the social mass of Málaga CF “shows itself match by match”, despite the qualifying situation. «We are very devoted to the team, knowing that all the games are final. The fans will never leave their Malaga. He will never walk alone.”

For the supporters of Granada CF, it stood out the great influx of women among the expedition members to the city of the Alhambra. One of the season-ticket holders in the Axarquía region, Francisco Clavero, gave his daughter as an example, a season-ticket holder from a very young age and an unconditional fan of Málaga CF “wherever she is playing”. This member from the town of Benamargosa stated: «Last Thursday I was one of the first in the queues that were made at La Rosaleda. I arrived at five in the morning, because I wanted to be here in Granada, accompanying Málaga, with all my family.

«For Málaga CF whatever it takes. The three to zero of this last game at La Rosaleda has given us back the illusion. The players are very motivated and hopefully we all achieve the goal we have set, which is to continue in the Second Division to aspire to return to the First Division as soon as possible, “added this follower.

Neither the few degrees that were found on Thursday when queuing at the Martiricos temple nor even the less than ten with which one of the thermometers near Los Cármenes reflected at six in the afternoon diminished all the chants with which the mass Málaga CF’s social team wrapped up its team in a visit that has also gone down in history.
