The Nakatomi Architecture Xeraco Basketball Club faces a new challenge: the final phase of the Preferred Cup. With a balance of only two defeats in the league in three seasons of life, the xeraquero team now wants to win this competition. The peculiarity of the FBCV Cup is that its champion will certify their direct promotion to the higher category, which is the regional league, if they manage to finish among the top four at the end of the season.
The Preferred Cup will be played in the Gata de Gorgos Municipal Pavilion this weekend with the presence of Xeraco BC himself, Comenius Basketball in Valencia, CB Casino Campello and Persianas Asense in Benetússer.
On Saturday the 25th, the semifinals will be played: at 5:00 p.m., CB Casino Campello & Persianas Asensi de Benetússer and at 7:00 p.m. the clash between the Nakatomi Arquitectura Xeraco Bàsquet Club and the Comenius de València Basketball Club. The winners of both matches will meet for the Preferred Cup title on Sunday at 12 noon.
The coach of Xeraco BC, Paul Carpentercomments that “we face the Cup with great enthusiasm, since at the beginning of the season we did not expect it as a recently promoted team. After a few months of hard work, we have achieved it. On the other hand, we arrived at the competition with some significant loss, but with good feelings about the game after the last matches, in which we have been very solid and intense in both areas, so we are looking forward to starting the competition now to face great rivals and try to bring the Cup to Xeraco.
About the rival in the semifinals, the Comenius Basket, the coach of the xeraquero box points out that “it is a team with a lot of youth and that will surely print a high rhythm of play, with a point guard that we must have very controlled.”
Regarding Benetússer, Fuster points out that “it is an experienced team where all the players are clear about what they are playing for and tactically they are very well organized”, adding that “de Campello would say it is a team that mixes youth and experience with very athletic players who are very dangerous in transitions and in 1×1”.
The Nakatomi Arquitectura Xeraco Bàsquet will be supported in this final phase by a good number of fans and members of the entity.
