(og) The city of Langenfeld, together with the city sports association, honored more than 230 athletes on Saturday evening in the halls of the SGL exercise center on Langforter Straße. This is announced by Bastian Köchling from the city’s sports office. In an interview, Mayor Frank Schneider and the chairman of the city sports association, Karl-Heinz Bruser, paid tribute to all those active for their achievements in 2022. “This is made possible in particular by the voluntary work in the sports clubs. Many thanks to all club board members, to the trainers, but also to all the parents who accompany their children to competitions.” said Schneider. Karl-Heinz Bruser added: “During the Corona pandemic, it was our sports clubs that repeatedly filled Langenfeld and its sports facilities with life. Regular changes to the NRW Corona Protection Ordinance made this path more difficult. Together we will defy the consequences of the pandemic and try to keep Langenfeld people enthusiastic about sport and exercise.”
