Without further ado, let’s get to the list:

1- At the turn is more delicious

The first big adversity for the Eagles came in the week: game with a lot of rain, two turnovers and 14-0 down in the first quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars, from their former coach Doug Pederson. However, it was not even possible to think about giving up: the defense appeared and returned the turnovers, Jalen Hurts engaged the second gear and at the end of the first half, Philadelphia was already leading, not returning the advantage at any time, making the game calm.

2- Bad phase? Not here

One of the worst narratives about the Eagles referred to the supposed “easy schedule”, as if in the NFL that was possible. When Philadelphia lost to the Washington Commanders in Week 10, that conversation intensified and in Week 11, the team trailed the Indianapolis Colts until 1:20 left in the game, when Hurts crossed the end zone to ward off any chance of a crunch. It was time for those criticizing to withdraw their flags definitively.

3- Playoffs, here we come

Sometimes, anxiety is a team’s worst enemy and in a divisional clash – surrounded by rivalry – this can intensify. That was the fear for the Eagles in Week 14 against the New York Giants, as the team could guarantee qualification for the playoffs with 4 weeks in advance. But if anyone thought Philadelphia could wobble for that, they were wrong: Miles Sanders rushed for 144 yards, the defense made Saquon Barkley look like an ordinary, and by the end of the third quarter, the Eagles were already in the postseason.

4- The trampling

The end of the Eagles regular season was an anticlimax: Hurts missed games through injury and when he returned the team was just protocol, causing many to forget how good this team is. Bad luck for the Giants, who faced Philadelphia in the AFC semifinal and did not see the color of the ball: the 28-0 in the first half is a faithful portrait of what the match was like, making it clear that there was a huge difference in talent between the two squads.

5- We’re back

Facing a talented roster like the San Francisco 49ers is a huge challenge for any team, in any situation. Of course, the departure of injured Brock Purdy made life easier for the Eagles, but the team did its job: he ran well with the ball, wore down the opposing defense and didn’t give any soup to bad luck. It is important to note that even before Purdy was injured, Haason Reddick and his colleagues were already passing the car in the OL of the 49ers. After 5 seasons, the Philadelphia Eagles returned to the Super Bowl.
