WDR-Sport: DFB: fines for Gladbach, BVB and Paderborn

The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) has fined six professional clubs for “unsportsmanlike conduct” by their fans.

The total sum of the penalties is 152,150 euros, all offenses involve the burning of pyrotechnics, as the association announced in a collective statement.

The Bundesliga clubs are among those affected Borussia Monchengladbach (28,000 euros) and Borussia Dortmund (1,000) and the second division SC Paderborn (21.000).

Second division club Hannover 96 received the highest penalty, the Lower Saxony had to pay 88,800 euros for the pyro show of their fans in the derby against Eintracht Braunschweig (1: 1) in September. According to the DFB, “Hanoverian supporters burned a total of at least 148 Bengal fires”.
