Two victories and prize-winning places for Latvia in the Nordic Taekwondo Championship – Fighting sports – Sportacentrs.com

Around 150 athletes from eight countries – the Baltic and Nordic countries – participated in the Nordic Championship in all groups. Latvia was represented by four taekwondo wrestlers who are from “Olimpiks club”. The representatives of Latvia managed to start successfully, winning two Nordic championship titles and winning two other awards.

In juniors (48 kg), Ruslans Lepin-Žagar won the first place, who beat the representative of Estonia in the final. In the adult 68 kg category, the second victory for Latvia was provided by Dāvids Bērziņš, who was superior to the athletes from the Faroe Islands in the final.

Linda Siliņa and Dāvis Spārns competed for the first time in the cadet competition. Siliņa (37kg) lost to the Dane in the final and won the second place. Sparns (33kg) lost to the representative of Finland in a similar fight in the semi-finals, who later became the winner, thus taking 3rd place.
