Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt get the next World Cup victory in Sigulda and at the same time celebrate the European Championship title.

The Olympic champions are again at the top: Tobias Wendl (Berchtesgaden) and Tobias Arlt (Königssee) win the World Cup in Sigulda. The duo also secures the title of European champion.

After the first round, Wendl/Arlt were still in third place – behind the Latvians Martins Bots/Robert Plume and Eduard Sevics-Mikelsevics/Lukass Krasts. In the second round everything went together for Upper Bavaria. In 1:24.022 they took the win and pushed the Latvians Bots/Blume (+0.062) and Sevics-Mikelsevics/Krasts (+0.089) to second and third place.

Eggert and Benecken in fifth place

Toni Eggert (Ilsenburg) and Sascha Benecken (Suhl), who just missed out on the podium with fourth place last weekend, clearly fell short of expectations in the first round. They went into the second round in eighth place. There ran
significantly more together: In the end they reached fifth place (+0.269).

Hannes Orlamünde and Paul Gubitz (both Zella-Mehlis) had little luck. The Germans got into trouble in the first round, but were able to get back on the sled. Also in the second run they made too many mistakes. So in the end only 16th place remained.
