TIP: Good news for Czech hockey. We have talent, look forward to a brotherly duo in the national team

The introduction of Příklep belonged to extra-league Plzeň, which is in sixth place in the current table, which is a pleasant surprise for both guests. “The team is very physically prepared, but when I see the budget they have… And they are in calm waters, Pilsen always succeeds,” laughs Andrašovský before how the West Bohemians are doing.

It is not far from the sixth place even to the elite four, but according to journalist Martin Kézr, Třinec will not let the Indians into the elite quartet. “But I like Plzeň a lot. For example, in the way they can integrate young people into the team. If you look at the squad, they also have a “no name” team, but it works on the ice. Of course, it will also depend on what happens in the playoffs, ” Kézr means.

Andrašovský laughs at the courage of the club to give sixteen-year-old talents a chance in the extra league. Jan Skok recently joined Adam Jiříček. “It’s unbelievable how the boys are handling it. They jump into it with straight feet, they played it decently. I’m glad they’re getting this chance,” confides the skills coach and also highlights the contribution of 24-year-old Petr Kodýtek, who has moved into the role of leader in recent seasons young team. Even an experienced journalist agrees with this.

“He shows all the agents that even if you are not 190 centimeters, you can stand out. He can slip between the habans. And he is also strong in duels,” notes Kézr. His partner in the studio Andrašovský just nods. “He does everything to the fullest and then he can use it in the game. He has a great gift, he can replace what he lacks. He is a complex hockey player,” says the guest of the Příklep show.

Another good news for the Indians is that, according to Andrašovský, other talents are growing in the Pilsen club. “A few more Jiříček or Benák can grow up there, there are enough smart guys who could jump into the A team,” believes the hockey coach.

If hundreds of millions of crowns are not available, according to Kézr, clubs have no other chance but to develop their own young players. “It’s a necessary trend when you want to create a team conceptually. At such a moment, however, patience is also necessary,” he says. According to him, they have this in Pilsen, and that is how the already mentioned Adam Jiříček is promoting himself. It predicts a great future for him, as well as his older brother David, even in the national team. “We have to get used to the new representative pair.”

Andrašovský, who sees Adam Jiříček at work at the club level, claims that the younger of the siblings is different. “David is not afraid to make a loop on the blue, he is a risk taker. Adam is more close to the ground and can defend better,” observes the coach.

In the program Příklep, Andrašovský subsequently talked about why some foreign engagements did not work out for him. He also revealed how he got into women’s hockey, as well as how his transformation into a skills coach was born. The NHL was also discussed. Who does the Slovak coach follow and which players from the Czech Republic and Slovakia impressed him the most with their progress?
