Thunder crushes NBA-leading Celtics 150-117

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Josh Giddey scored a season-high 25 points and the depleted Oklahoma City Thunder routed the NBA-leading Boston Celtics 150-117 on Tuesday night.

Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is among the league’s leading scorers averaging 30.8 points per game, did not play due to illness. Without him, the Thunder set a scoring record since the team moved to Oklahoma City from Seattle before the 2008-09 season. The previous record was 149 units in 2013.

Lu Dort had 23 points and Jalen Williams, Tre Mann and Isaiah Joe each had 21 for the Thunder. They hit 59.2% of the field goals.

The Thunder hadn’t won a game by more than 16 points and the Celtics hadn’t lost by more than 16 this season.

Jaylen Brown had 29 points for Boston and Jaylen Tatum added 27.

The Thunder led 74-54 at halftime on 17 points from Joe who was 6-of-9 from the field and Oklahoma City shot 57% in the first half. The Celtics trailed heavily in the first two quarters despite Brown’s 18 points.
