The shock decision of Kobe Bryant’s parents against his will

Kobe Bryant was a man of temper, who even refused things to his parents. Unfortunately he was not always listened to by Joe and Pam Bryant, who have already made a shock decision against his will, all for a few hundred thousand dollars. They must really regret their choice since the disappearance of their son…

Since his retirement, and even more since his disappearance in January 2020, almost 3 years ago, Kobe Bryant is a true NBA icon, a legend whose merchandise fetches high prices at auction. Who wouldn’t dream of having a jersey worn by the Mamba during his immense career? Who wouldn’t dream of having even an autograph from him?

The demand is so strong that last June, a wealthy collector bought a jersey worn by the No. 8 during his first year in the league, for the modest sum of 2.7 million dollars! In the same vein, his shoes do not leave for less than 30,000 dollars, which is to say if enthusiasts value his heritage…

Kobe’s parents have sold his first championship ring!

If a good number of sellers see this passion around the Mamba as a way to win the jackpot, there are some who today must be biting their fingers for having given in to financial temptation. This is particularly the case of his parents, who had allowed themselves to sell a very precious object against the advice of their son. Joe and Pam Bryant made a shock choice for $200,000, the site explains The Sports Rush :

By his 4th year in the league, Kobe Bryant was a two-time All-Star and an NBA champion. The ring won by the Mamba in 2000 had a particular value, since it already belonged to him, but especially because it was his first. Kobe had also decided to offer it to his parents, Joe and Pam. The ring was made of 14 carat diamonds and gold.

But in the heart of the 2010s, his parents decided to sell collectibles that belonged to Kobe, including the 2000 title ring. The Mamba was against this decision, and he opposed it for a long time. He eventually gave in to his parents, and the ring went on sale for $15,000. Bidding reached the final price of $206,000. An anonymous Lakers fan would have offered the precious.

For some incomprehensible reason, Kobe Bryant’s parents decided to sell their son’s first championship ring, even though he was against the idea. They certainly won $200,000 on the spot, but they lost what would be one of the most precious objects in the world of sport today, and above all a memory that is priceless.

Hard to imagine Joe and Pam Bryant in need, and yet they sold the first ring winteased by Kobe with the Lakers for $200,000. The lucky buyer must today happy about this decision, and he should make a hell of a profit one day.
