The Browns fire … their defensive coordinator

Kevin Stefanski remains on the Cleveland side. But the noose is tightening. NFL Network announces that the Browns have parted ways with defensive coordinator Joe Woods.

Woods had been in the job for three seasons. He had also arrived at the same time as Stefanski in Ohio.

It must be said that the Browns’ defense had a season well below expectations. The squad finished 19th in points allowed, 12th in yards conceded or 25th against the run. The 28 points conceded in the last game for a very weak Steelers attack probably acted as a knockout blow.

In recent days, tensions even seemed to arise when Jadeveon Clowney announced even before the last game of the season that he thought he would leave “95%” at the end of the season.

Cleveland will therefore begin its offseason by looking for a coach for its defense.
