The Local Basketball League once again played its annual party with the celebration of the XV edition of the All Star and XIII Quico Córcoles Memorial.

On this occasion, the Even team beat the Odd team by a tight 64-58, 122 points which, as a novelty this year, were converted into euros for the solidarity entity invited on this occasion, Solc, the Regional Association for Aid in the Treatment of Cancer. At the end of the game, its president, María José Grau, and its coordinator, Marcela Ripoll, collected the check from the board of directors of the local basketball competition. Also throughout the morning, both have set up a stand at the entrance to the pavilion where they have sold solidarity merchandising and have reported on their work.

Within the most supportive edition of all, there has also been a memory for Quico Córcoles, founder of this competition, with a minute of silence and a small tribute to his family, while the veteran Rafael Casasempere, a 65-year associate, has also been honored to basketball and the latter to this local competition through Sant Roc, a true institution of this sport in our city. A large part of his family wanted to accompany Rafael.

But along with the tributes and solidarity there was also basketball of course. The Even team led by Rafa Mengual and German Soler beat the Odd 64-58 with Javier Fernández and Rafa Casasempere himself in front. In the first quarter this team was already winning with 17-10 and after 23-17 in the second quarter at halftime they reached 40-27.

In the second half, the Odd team reduced the differences but did not completely disturb the Even team on the scoreboard thanks to partials from 11-14 to 51-41 with the last quarter to go and 13-17 in the last period left by the clash in the final 64-58. The best players of both teams, MVP Quico Córcoles, were Luis Sanz from Sant Roc in the Odd and Joan Hernández, from Font Roja Zooplast in the Par, being the author of almost half of his team’s points with 31 of the 64.
