Along with working with the Braves, Brown also had a proven track record with the Toronto Blue Jays, from 2010 to 2018, as a special advisor to the general manager. From 2001 to 2009, he was director of scouting for the Montreal Expos and then the Washington Nationals.
He began his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he spent eight years as a regional supervisor and then supervisor for the entire east coast.
