Teofilo Gutierrez generates controversy again, although not on the pitch or for his future in his career as a footballer for 2023. This time, a Lionel Messi shirt raffle of the Argentina teamblew up the supporters of the talented striker.

The reason for raffling off Messi’s shirt, according to Teo, was collect funds to buy toys and give them to the most needy children in Barranquilla and its surroundings. Many followers responded to his call and bought the tickets, which cost 20,000 Colombian pesos each.

Nevertheless, there was no raffle winner and Teófilo announced with a cold message that he was keeping the shirt and the money, only managing to thank those who bought the raffle tickets for the help.

Things started to get bad on social networks since Teófilo’s announcement about the raffle. However, they got worse and followers exploded after Teo’s publication on his Instagram accountin which he is shown traveling on his vacations and enjoying the Colombian Caribbean Sea on a boat.

Some former teammates from Deportivo Cali began to joke with Gutiérrez. Harold Preciado, champion with Cali next to Teófilo, asked him. “Who won the dye raffle?”. While Kevin Velasco commented: “You bought the chain with the raffle, boss”.

Everything got bad when Teófilo answered them, probably joking, “Daddy, with that money I’m traveling”. Immediately many followers commented outraged.

However, Teófilo reassured people who think that the footballer took financial advantage of the raffle: “Don’t worry, the raffle will be done again until they win it.”
