The team from the West Division of the American League of Major League Baseball, Texas Rangersagreed to keep, at least one more year, after awarding the experienced Dominican outfielder a minor league contract Elier Hernandezaccording to the MLB.com page
The versatile defensive player received an invitation to the Rangers’ major league spring training camp to try to earn a spot on the team in the Texan city. Likewise, since first signing with Texas during the 2020-21 offseason, Hernández played primarily at Triple-A Round Rock, hitting a strong .298/.356/.524 with 13 home runs and 21 doubles in 351 appearances in the plate.

Following this previous outing, Hernández made his major league debut, though he hit a modest .182/.200/.242 in 35 at-bats in 14 games with Texas last season. As a result, the Rangers designated the outfielder for assignment in August and later cut him from their 40-man roster.
The Dominican, after opting to become a minor league free agent, will now return to the Rangers organization for another season as a depth option within the manager’s options. Hernández he has experience at all three outfield positions and also saw action at first base the past two seasons, increasing his versatility and team-building prospects.
