Serie A: Cremonese-Monza 2-3, two goals from Caprari – Sport

Cremonese-Monza 2-3. Goals by Ciurria, 2 Caprari (1 penalty), Ciofani and Dessers. The record

Monza wins in Cremona 3-2, dominates for an abundant hour but takes a big risk with the hosts in the final. It is the synthesis of a strange match at the ‘Zini’ that Palladino’s team managed very well until 3-0 but then relaxed a little too much allowing the Cremonese to come back until 3-2 and come close to equalizing with Daniel Ciofani. blocked on the line by a super Di Gregorio. However, the Grigiorossi remain desperately last in the standings and after the fourth consecutive defeat, Massimiliano Alvini’s bench is shaking somewhat. Conceding the draw would have been a crazy waste for Monza who had already come close to scoring with Caprari in the 4th minute and then scored it shortly after with Ciurria served by Petagna. The doubling in the 18th minute on a penalty for a foul by Ghiglione on Izzo with Massa recalled by the Var with ample delay and scored by Caprari 3′ later.

A completely stationary Cremonese never put up any resistance until the second half with Pickel calling Di Gregorio to make a big save. But it was still Monza who passed with an action on the left by Petagna who found Caprari in the center of the area good at making it 3-0 in the 9th minute. From that moment, however, Palladino’s team pulled the plug, first conceding the header from Ciofani, who had just entered, and from Dessers with a diagonal right-footed shot in the 37th minute. Up until the 51st minute Monza was under pressure from Cremonese who again with Ciofani heading in Buonaiuto’s corner made it one step away from 3-3 but once again Di Gregorio made a great save saving three very heavy points. At the final whistle, the home crowd protested against the team, but for now Alvini is holding on: “Resign? I still believe that this team can reach safety. We still have many games ahead of us. We know we have made a unsatisfactory first leg but we will try until the end,” said Raffaele Palladino, on the contrary, beaming. “We’re doing well, but our Scudetto remains our salvation. Something more? We know we have an ambitious property and I like pressure, but we need to take one step at a time, let’s remain a newly promoted one”.
