Sacha Kljestan puts away his football boots: “Grateful for career and friends” | Foreign football

Sacha Kljestan played football for Anderlecht between 2010 and 2015. The American was not a technical star, but always gave himself completely. This resulted in, among other things, 3 titles with Purple & White.

Kljestan returned to the States after his term at RSCA, where the former international has now given up.

In a statement on Twitter, he thanks “football”. “Thanks for showing me the world. It allowed me to make friends everywhere.”

“Thanks to football, I learned more about myself, others, countries, cultures, religions and traditions than I ever could have in books or at school.”

Football taught me what hard work means and what it takes to get the best version of yourself.”

“I’ve been living my dream for 17 years. I’m thankful for the career I’ve had.”
