Rostock Seawolves third largest basketball club again – dpa

In the Bundesliga table, the Rostock Seawolves are currently only in ninth place, but in the list of the 100 largest clubs published annually by the German Basketball Association (DBB), the Mecklenburg-based club are again in third place. The DBB announced this on Tuesday. The basis for the evaluation is the number of participant passes. Here the Seawolves have 1236 members (887 male/349 female) and increased by 229 club members compared to 2021. Number one is Alba Berlin (1880) ahead of Club BBU ’01 from Ulm (1335).

“The place in the top 3 is an expression and recognition of our extensive work in the youth and youth sector, which is done in our association on a daily basis on a full-time basis and on a voluntary basis, especially in the daycare and school area,” said association board member André Jürgens. He referred to the large proportion of members of around 75 percent under the age of 18 and emphasized: “We are happy about everyone who supports the values ​​of our association, from those who are active in sports to the fan and sponsoring members.”
