Bucarelli opens the dance from three, then Hunt from the low post goes to 0-5. Cantù is confident and finds the 0-8 with a bomb from Severini. However, Rieti is there and stings on the Zugno-Tucker axis (7-10). Outside Rogic already loaded with two fouls and inside Berdini, who however comes out immediately for a game clash. It is the former Zugno who equalizes from outside: 10-10. Cantù suffers from the Lazio defenses in the area, thus opening a back and forth that leads to the local overtaking of Bonacini (16-14). Acqua S.Bernardo responds with the second triple from Bucarelli, but Rotondo scores four points in a row (20-19). Long distance challenge between Severini and Maglietti (23-22). In the final Bucarelli tries twice from the bow, but it’s always iron. In the first quarter 4/11 from three for the Brianza.

Third quarter: balanced start with the teams on 8-8 after five minutes. Timperi, Geist and Tucker try to reopen the games, but Cantù chases the clubs back with the usual Hunt and a proactive Severini, the latter also in double figures (13 points of which three triples). In the 27th minute it’s 46-54 for coach Sacchetti’s men. In the half hour Cantù leads 63-51 with Hunt in the “double-double” (18 points, ten rebounds, three blocks and 29 evaluation).

The fourth fraction opens with Maglietti’s second bomb, while Rogic immediately sees his fourth personal foul whistled (55-63). Rieti is back on -5 thanks to a series of trips from the line (59-64). Cantù makes harakiri: break of 8-1 for Rieti with Bonacini plus triples from Geist and Tucker (67-65). Bucarelli unloads for Baldi Rossi who hits from outside (67-68). Geist shoots 50% from the line 40 seconds from the end and impacts (68-68). This is followed by Rogic’s shot on the iron and Rieti who doesn’t find the basket at the end.
