REPECHAGE: NEW RIMINI BASEBALL WRITES TO THE FIBS PRESIDENT.
“ERROR OF INTERPRETATION OF THE OBVIOUS, UNEXPLAINED, UNACCEPTABLE RULE”
New Rimini Baseball has sent an official letter to the president of FIBS, Andrea Marcon, asking to review the position of the Federation, which has rejected the request for repechage in Serie A of the club chaired by Alessia Valducci.
“We strongly and decisively contest the failure to repechage in Serie A for the next 2023 season”, the first lines of the communication.
Where does New Rimini’s protest come from?
“We were denied repechage – explains Alessia Valducci – citing an essential criterion and that is that ‘the club relegated from a higher league for two consecutive years cannot make a request for repechage for the following two years’. Standard interpreted in an anomalous way by FIBS, which instead writes about the impossibility of rescuing a relegated club for the following two years. An evident, inexplicable, unacceptable error of interpretation”.
New Rimini Baseball therefore asks to review the position and to accept the repechage request in Serie A for the next 2023 season. In the absence of a timely and precise response, the company is preparing the appeal and the official communication to CONI.
“I am convinced – concludes Valducci – that it was a misunderstanding. I continue to trust in clarity and transparency, in the sincere desire not to mortify our sport. These weeks ahead of the 2023 season have already seen episodes happen which, spoiled by protagonisms and lack of dialogue, have shaken our world. Much more is needed to imagine an effective relaunch strategy “.
