Racing negotiates for Gonzalo Escobar

The closing of the book of passes is not being easy. With just over 48 hours to go before more players can be incorporated (except the free ones), Racing is in negotiations for Gonzalo Escobar. He is the most potable left back and who is closest to joining the Academy today. He was not the favorite or plan A, but the alternatives were falling and the offer for the current Ibiza player gained strength. As Racing de Alma announced last Friday, the former Colón joined the agenda in recent days. He actually reappeared, because in July 2021 he had already been probed before going to play in Spain.

Gonzalo Escobar, the side closest to Racing

He is not comfortable there. His team is at the bottom of the Second Division table, he plays little and his contract expires in the middle of the year. Racing does not have a difficult time leaving Gonzalo Escobar from Ibiza and with some money it could repatriate him to Argentina. The player has already warned that he is interested in playing in the Academy and today he is above Angelo Martino. On the left side of Talleres there is an economic difference. Andrés Fassi does not budge from 1,500,000 dollars for the entire pass and Víctor Blanco offers just 1,000,000. No one wants to give in and Newell’s would reach what the people of Cordoba want. That’s why he’s cold, though not totally down. Racing has priority, but it should improve the offer.

Racing follows him from Colón.

Gonzalo Escobar is 25 years old, he was champion with Colón and from that moment he was in the sights of Racing. They wanted him to be a substitute for Eugenio Mena after the departure of Alexis Soto to Defense but he did not arrive. He is a winger who passes very well in attack, he can play both in lines of four and five and his strength is not the mark. But for the game that Fernando Gago preaches, he could be more than useful, although he does not arrive with the badge to put on the shirt and be the undisputed starter.

There was no progress by Esquivel

Along with Gonzalo Escobar, another player who had appeared on Racing’s radar was Lucas Esquivel. As reported from Santa Fe, there was no news regarding the winger after a survey with an informal offer by the leadership. The reality is that Tatengue does not have as a priority to transfer the player in this transfer market and they sense that the tournament that begins should be that of his consolidation in the First Division. Last Monday, against Banfield, the winger started and ended up being one of the highest points in the 0-0 win for his team.

Lucas Esquivel is a 1.85m left-back who passes very well in attack and stands out for his punch. His strength is not the brand, but in an offensive proposal like Fernando Gago’s he would be a player who would fit in perfectly, since the DT of the Academy plays with very high wings.
