PSG: playing time, goals, form… where are the players on loan?

This season, PSG is represented in the four corners of Europe. Last summer, fourteen players left the capital club on loan, most of them at the very end of the transfer window. If some have not particularly marked the spirits since the start of the season in their new jersey, others have been showing beautiful colors for a few weeks. This situation bothers the leaders, who fear to recover all these players at the end of the season, and once again to weigh down their recruitment envelope.

Icardi, delighted in Turkey, Dina Ebimbe most used player

He was undoubtedly the one who started the furthest, between his cutesy performances with PSG and the roller coaster of his love life: Mauro Icardi (29) shows great things in Galatasaray. After a timid start, the striker, who played 7 games (out of a possible 12) with the Turkish club, was decisive nine times in the last five (5 goals, 4 assists) and showed himself to his advantage during the derby against Fenerbahçe on January 8.

Without being indisputable holders, the two players loaned to Germany, Abdou Diallo (26) at RB Leipzig and Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe (22 years old) at Eintracht Frankfurt, each achieve a full first part of the season. The Senegalese defender, who played in the World Cup, was regularly lined up from the start (11 games played including 8 starts).

The French midfielder is the most used player among PSG loanees (17 games, 2 goals, 1 assist) and has even started continuously since October. His loan is, as a reminder, accompanied by a purchase option which will become mandatory if Frankfurt remains in the Bundesliga.

Draxler, Paredes, Kurzawa true to themselves

More than two months that we had not seen him, and his first Premier League match with Fulham (October 1), Layvin Kurzawa (30) started 2023 with an FA Cup goal on January 7. It was only the second game for the defender, who was out all October due to injury.

Julian Draxler (29 years old) and Leandro Paredes (28 years old) have played a few more matches, but do not convince. At Benfica (Portuguese D 1), the German has never made his way to the starting XI and, even if he is regularly used (14 games played, 589 minutes, 5 starts), he is only too rarely decisive (2 goals).

The Argentinian, crowned with the title of world champion this winter in Doha, will find balm there to put at the heart of his season, which he started as a holder at Juventus before losing his place. He has not started a match since September, but has come into play every time, in Serie A as in the Champions League. It’s always more thanAnder Herrera (33), who has yet to play a full match with Bilbao.

After a period of adaptation which will have seen him evolve with the U 21 of Sunderland, Edward Michut (19 years old) recently chained his first three tenures with the first team of the English D 2 club. It is an inverse dynamic to that of Colin grew up (24 years old), who chained 9 appearances between the 5th and the 15th day of Ligue 1 with Strasbourg but who had to deal with injuries.

Always among young people, Djeidi Gassama (19 years old), at KAS Eupen in Belgian D 1, and Kenny Nagera (20 years old), with the reserve of FC Lorient, glean good minutes of play, particularly the second.

Wijnaldum, la tuile

Three players remain, who have hardly set foot on the pitch this season. First the poor Georginio Wijnaldum (32), who played two short matches with Roma in friendly and in Serie A before breaking his tibia. The Dutchman has recently resumed the path of collective training.

Finally two young players, the former captain of the U 19 Moutanabi Bodiang (19 years old) and Anfane Ahamada (20 years). The first has not been called up with Le Puy Foot (National) since September. The second has 31 minutes (3 games) in all with Martigues (National)
