The Parma Clima award ceremony was held this morning by the municipal administration for the conquest of the fifteenth Champions Cup (now European Champions Cup), which took place last June in Bonn.
The Municipality was represented by the councilor for sport Marco Bosi who received technicians, managers, athletes and collaborators of Parma Clima in the suggestive setting of the Sala del Consiglio.
“By now baseball is part of the culture of the city – Bosi said -. The administration of Parma is close to you, we consider you authentic ambassadors of the city in Italy and in Europe. You have written pages that will remain in our history for decades”.
Luca Meli, president of Parma baseball and Parma Clima, wanted to thank the “team, technicians and managers for the results obtained”. For the number one of the ducal club “Parma baseball must be considered a greater good than each of us who are simple people at the service of society, each with their own role, with the aim of continuing to write history”. Meli then guaranteed his personal commitment “to improve the stadium structures thanks also to the help of the city administration”.
In this regard, commissioner Bosi announced the imminent start of work to replace the lighting system with LED lamps, which are less expensive than those used up to now.
The ceremony continued with the intervention of the General Manager Massimo Fochi who, although not naming him for obvious reasons of superstition, indicated the number one goal for the 2023 season in winning the Scudetto. “The past is now written and on the bulletin board. Now we have to think about what to do to improve further. We work to achieve something that we have been missing since 2010, we have the worry of having touched it without reaching it. Thirty of us are starting this year but only one will win: ability, desire and that bit of luck that is always needed in sport will be needed”. Fochi’s intervention concluded with thanks to the Municipality of Parma which will help the ducal society in solving the problems linked to energy costs.

Before the delivery of the commemorative plaque, Captain Sebastiano Poma took the floor, recovering from shoulder surgery from which he is recovering successfully.
“It’s a pleasure to be here, we hope to meet again to celebrate next year – the bearded captain said -. We know what the corporate goal is and we’ve been working to achieve it since January 4th. We are a united group that works with enthusiasm: this cohesion leads us to feel less tired”.
After the delivery of the commemorative plaque, Dr. Antonio Bonetti, Coni delegate for the province of Parma, and Marcello Saccardi, the new coach of Parma Clima, took the floor and promised the maximum commitment of coaches and players to achieve the best results.
