NFL: Travis Kelce sets the record straight with Joe Burrow with Chiefs victory

Travis Kelce did not hide his enthusiasm following the victory of Kansas City Chiefs 23-20 over Cincinnati Bengals in the American Association Finals.

Moments after the field goal that ultimately gave the Chiefs the win to send them to the Super Bowl, the tight end interrupted an interview with his quarterback Patrick Mahomes at CBS to remind who was boss at the Chiefs’ home, Arrowhead Stadium.

“Burrowhead my ass,” Kelce yelled into the microphone. This is Mahomes house! »

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s success against the Chiefs since the start of his career has been in the news all week leading up to this matchup. Perfect in three confrontations in front of Mahomes before this match, Burrow had notably defeated Kansas City on his ground a year ago at this same stage of the playoffs. Cincinnati reached the Super Bowl with a 27-24 win.

This victory on Sunday for the Chiefs therefore allowed Kelce to set the record straight.

Mahomes followed up more humbly than his teammate in the interview. After thanking God for helping in the healing of his ankle, he praised his teammates for their work in Sunday’s victory, but he also had an arrow for Burrow.

“What about this team,” he said. We worked hard and the guys got up. We are a good team. It’s the Arrowhead and not the Burrowhead here. »

The Chiefs quarterback was then asked about the next opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles for the Super Bowl.

“They have a good team, they have a good quarterback and it will be a good challenge for us. It will be quite a challenge, but we will celebrate this victory. I don’t think we have cigars, but we’re going to be ready for the Super Bowl,” Mahomes continued in his interview at CBS.

The final game for the 2022-2023 NFL season will take place on February 12.
