NFL: The NFL will raise its salary cap by $16M

The NFL has announced to its 32 teams that starting next season, the salary cap will reach $224 million. This is an increase of $16.6 million from the cap currently in place.

Teams will be allowed to negotiate with free agents without compensation starting Monday, March 13, at noon.

The Chicago Bears are expected to be the team with the most space on their payroll, estimated at over 91 million, while the New Orleans Saints are expected to be the team with the least wiggle room. are estimated to exceed the cap of $58 million.
