With one of the biggest playoff comebacks in the history of the US football league NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars against the Los Angeles Chargers enforced.
After trailing 27-0 late in the first half, the underdog turned American football’s duel with the Chargers and ended up winning 31-30. According to US media, there have only been two games in the history of the NFL playoffs with a larger gap that has still been made up. The decision brought in Field Goal when the clock is running out.
“Never quite out”
“You couldn’t write a crazier script. In the dressing room we said it’s a bit like our season is going, we’re never quite out of the fight.”said jaguarsQuarterback Trevor Lawrence, who made four bad passes to the opponent in the first half and then four Touchdown-passes had enabled the race to catch up. “I had bad passes in the first half, we didn’t look good offensively, but we just kept believing in each other,” he said at “NBC“. “One playoff game, 27 points down, we’re always counted in those games but we don’t care. We love it.”
The grace of the first pick
The Jaguars had such a poor record in each of the two previous seasons, with just four wins in total, that they had the first pick in the draft, which should go to the weakest team of the previous season. In 2021, the Jaguars brought quarterback Lawrence to Florida. “I didn’t have much choice. If you want to get out of this hole, you have to score a lot”Lawrence said of his four bad passes. “I didn’t want to be the reason these guys lose here today.”

Purdy drives San Francisco to victory
Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Brock Purdy led the co-favorite san francisco 49ers against the Seattle Seahawks to a 41:23 and thus into the quarterfinals.
Purdy was drafted as the last talent in the US league, he only took over the role as starting player in December due to injuries to the established players. In his playoff debut, he showed no nerves. The 23-year-old threw for three touchdowns and 332 yards, but didn’t get any Interception and also confirmed his recent performances in the first all-or-nothing game.
