More than a thousand minors have participated in 2022 in the Sports meetings of the Provincial Council

More than a thousand boys and girls of school age have participated during this past year 2022 in the Sports Meetings organized by the Diputación de Huelva. The disciplines of rhythmic gymnastics, judo, swimming and tennis have focused these meetings, developed in different municipalities of the province and coordinated by the delegations of the Federations of each of these sports in Huelva.

Through these meetings, the Sports Service encourages young people in the province of Huelva to practice physical activities with objectives oriented towards healthy leisure, where the greatest exponent is to achieve maximum participation without taking into account their physical or technical conditions and that they enjoy activities made from playful and educational criteria. They are meetings without exclusions, which allow basic training at school age.

The most numerous participation this year has been in swimming, with almost 500 girls and boys attending the meetings held in Cartaya, Bollullos, Palos de la Frontera and San Juan del Puerto; in the pre-baby, baby boy, baby and toddler categories.

The meetings of rhythmic gymnastics have brought together some 400 minors in the different appointments that have been held in various points of the province geography. Specifically, two preliminary phases have been developed, in Aljaraque and Moguer, and two final phases, in Beas and Ayamonte, with the participation of 32 clubs and schools in the province.

In the case of tennis, there have been around 130 schoolchildren between 6 and 12 years old who have been part of the meetings, held in Cartaya, Isla Cristina, Palos de la Frontera and Minas de Riotinto.
For their part, Lucena del Puerto, Ayamonte and Palos de la Frontera have hosted the meetings dedicated to judo, with close to a hundred participants between the ages of 8 and 12, also including a defense promotion course for women.

Together with the promotion of healthy leisure, promoting the values ​​of sports practice, improving prevention and health, as well as making sport a benchmark for mobility and structuring of the territory and internal and external tourism are other objectives that the Service of Sports of the Diputación de Huelva pursues with these meetings.
