Memphis, Ja Morant lets 30″ slide before playing the ball

A “trick” that we had reported in vogue among the Boston Celtics this season to make time run out unnecessarily was repeated last night by Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant in Charlotte.

With the lead and with the game decidedly already closed for 64-96 with 3’48” to the siren of the third period, Morant let the ball roll on the ground without catching it to start a new action.

In this way the stopwatch continued to run for a good 30″, at the end of which an opponent came to challenge him for the ball, so the point guard had to take it in hand and also started starting the shot clock of the action.
