Maestro Nisseno Alfonso Torregrossa, awarded at the Budokan of Ota (Japan) with the Grade of 8th dan in Daito Ryu Jujutsu . The first Italian to receive this very high result in Japan.

Daito Ryu Jujutsu is a 1200 year old samurai art National treasure of Japan, Daito-Ryu Aikijujutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art handed down for generations within the Takeda family, considered Japan’s greatest martial arts school once practiced only by high-class Samurai. Today disclosed to the world under various lines of study. Master Torregrossa has been representing for years in Italy and Europe the line of Matsusa Sensei (student of Takeda) today inherits from his teacher Kancho Takase heir of the school of Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu Renshinkan.
These have been intense days of training which saw master Torregrossa engaged again in Japan, in the land of the Samurai to learn at best and then give everything to his students in Caltanissetta and other Italian cities.
“I made the most of every day of my stay: from studying the Japanese language to studying the oldest Jujutsu, to studying Aikido with Sensei Teruo Tsuihiji heir to the Iwama Aikido school, to studying Tokyo’s Kyokushinkai with Shihan Shigeo Niitsu and I also directed some private Jujutsu workshops, Krav Maga in Tokyo.

A very rich and fruitful experience which has once again enriched my technical background which began in Caltanissetta in 1976 with the late Alberto Carrubba, my first Judo teacher”.
